The end of the performance, marred by an outburst from an apparent wealthy woman who took offense to Jessie Reyez's comment about taxes, made the evening less enjoyable. Free speech is important, but causing such an interruption is akin to heckling. Despite Jessie's efforts to handle the situation, the woman persisted with a second outburst. Our friends at the show recognized the man with her as one of the Majestic's board members, which may have emboldened her behavior. As she left, I made eye contact with her and expressed my disapproval for her actions. While it likely meant nothing to her, I found satisfaction in pointing out her poor behavior as a middle class tax payer with better manners. Overall, the evening was somewhat tainted by this unfortunate incident.
